Another summer has come and gone, and with the arrival of fall brings the arrival of everyone's favorite activity-- FTC! On Saturday, September 9, the team took a ride over to Penn State New Kensington for the 2017-18 FIRST Relic Recovery Season Kickoff.
At the kickoff, the folks at Penn State New Kensington did all they could to make us feel welcome. They gave us a very informative tour of their beautiful campus, and the whole event wouldn't have been possible without their generous hosting.
After the tour, we entered the gymnasium and following the opening remarks, they unveiled this year's event: FIRST Relic Recovery. In this year's event, the robots will have to complete a variety of challenging tasks, including but not limited to: picking up and placing foam blocks (glyphs) and plastic toys (relics), moving plastic wiffle balls (jewels), and decoding secret messages.
The Robotechs had a great time at the kickoff, and it was great interacting with the other Western Pennsylvania teams once again. We can't wait for another great season in the coming year!
