David Argent has a MS and PhD degrees in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences and has taught at California University of Pennsylvania for the past 17 years. He has little experience on the programming/ engineering side, but is willing to pitch in where I can. As an educator in the sciences he hears a lot about STEM and STEAM, and he can see wide ranging applications for robotics in his field, from remote sensing to surveillance monitoring. His two boys joined the team this year and they are all excited to contribute to the development of a winning robot.
Brian McConnell Mechanical Mentor
Brian McConnell is a Project Manager working for P.J. Dick Incorporated, managing building construction projects. He is an Architectural Engineering graduate from Penn State University. This is his third year as a mechanical mentor for the Infinity Robotechs and his son Drew.
Chris Miller Co-Coach
Christine Miller is a third year Co-Coach. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in pharmacy and currently works for Rite Aid Corporation as an immunizing pharmacist. Chris will be volunteering her time to help her son, Andrew, and his teammates on the Infinity Robotechs Team!
Robin Thomas Co-Coach
Robin Thomas is a third year co-coach for FTC specializing in project and business management. She has her masters in Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Information Systems and her bachelors in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Robin has also obtained her Project Management Professional from PMI in April of 2006. Robin is serving the team for which her sons, Brandon is a member. Robin is currently the President and Owner for McMurray Electric, Inc. and she also works as an analyst at PITT OHIO.
Ron Thomas Mechanical Mentor
Ron Thomas is a third year mentor for FTC specializing in mechanics/electrical. He is serving the team for which his son, Brandon and Evan Thomas, are members. Ron holds a Masters Journeyman Electrical license in the state of PA. He is the foreman/project manager for a family owned electrical contracting business, McMurray Electric, Inc. Ron has a degree in Electronics from Penn Technical Institute. Ron's expertise is more than 30+ years of electrical work.
