Infinity Robotechs Host and Earn First Place at Peters Township Middle School Scrimmage

On a blistery Saturday afternoon in Western Pennsylvania, the Infinity Robotechs Team #11210 brought home their first win of the year at the Peters Township Middle School Scrimmage.
The Robotechs co-hosted the annual event with the STEEL Serpents Team #8509. Hours of preparation went into making the event a success, with members of both teams coming in on the Friday prior to set up the entire gym, including the field, pit area, and concession area. The concession stands were especially important to us; thanks to the generosity of the Giant Eagle Finleyville and McMurray, Pizza Al's, Stone Church Acres, Kings Family Restaurant, Firehouse Subs, Duck Donuts, Sam's Club, and Starbucks, we were able to raise important funds needed to purchase parts for the robot and register for competitions.
At the competition, the team competed in five matches, and won four of them. After making important adjustments to the relic mechanism and the glyph-grabber, our points output significantly increased compared to the Ambler Qualifier. Our autonomous program also got a boost from the addition of the Viewphoria program to the robot, which allowed the robot to place its preloaded glyph in the correct cryptobox column. The team had a perfect autonomous in three out of five matches, with only minor errors in the other two.
After being crowned the victor of the scrimmage, the Robotechs hope to carry our momentum into the December 16th FTC Ohio State Qualifier in Austintown, OH. We can't wait to compete with our fellow teams and hopefully secure a spot at the state competition!
